The Bath Skyline walk has proved one of the most popular in the country. The National Trust guide to the scenic walk was the most downloaded last year from the conservation charity’s website. The website (www.nationaltrust.org.uk/walkwessex) which has more than 130 different walks to choose from – including 27 in its Wessex region, saw more than 250,000 maps in total downloaded last year.
This was a national rate of one almost every two minutes – with Bath’s six-mile circular walk topping the chart.
Wendy Stott, the trust’s general manager for Bath and the South Cotswolds, said: “The boom in the demand for walks in the last year has been incredible. We cater for a wide range of walkers, with everything from short circular routes to the more challenging hill walks. The Bath Skyline walk is quite a challenging walk but offers fantastic views over the city – I am really delighted that it is the most popular in the country.”
