englishcombe lane, bath

Surrounded by extensive lawns, this imposing 1685sqft detached house sits high on the southern ridge of Bath in an extremely generous plot. Constructed in 1927, Northcott offers generous room sizes, gorgeous leaded windows, a spectacular rear balcony/terrace, huge amounts of garden and plenty of parking. The internal layout currently comprises of; Ground floor – three large receptions, entrance hall and kitchen. First floor – three large double bedrooms and bathroom. Given the plot size (162ft x 103ft approx), there is ample scope for expansion if required. Some internal updating required but this wonderful home offers space and character in spades. From Bath city centre, proceed south on the A367 Wells Rd and fork right onto Bloomfield Road at Bear Flat. Turn right into Englishcombe Lane. The property will be found on the left.

Historical Notes

Constructed in 1927 and first listed in the same year as under the ownership of a J.G Pointing, Northcott was (at the time) only flanked by named properties (Overvale and Lansdown View). By 1936, Northcote (spelling change!) was listed as the home of D.G.R Tiddy (P.A.S.I, M.I.M, C.E) who lived at the house until 1966. At that point, the property was purchased by T.A Hemmings, who developed the plot, created No77a in 1970, moved into 77a and sold No77 to our current clients.
