Bath Historical Pageant 1909

Bath historical pageant

Photo above depicts the closing ceremony of the 1909 Bath Historical Pageant – a stars and stripes themed gathering with the ladies in Statue of Liberty costumes all coming from towns named Bath across the United States and Canada – a heroic undertaking given the lack of air travel at the time. The setting for the photo is (we think) the Temple of Sulis Minerva in Sydney Gardens.
