With the Bath Christmas Market starting this Thursday (24th Nov) and going on until the 11th December, the city centre will again be a mecca for Christmas shoppers from far and wide. This event brings in a huge amount of revenue for stallholders, charity collections and city businesses alike every year but the throng of visitors also bring with them a list of road closures and traffic issues. If you ‘d rather dodge the chalets and crowds in the centre during the Market, why not come and visit us in Oldfield Park instead?
As a community High Street since the late 1800s and located in the heart of busy Oldfield Park (Bus route No1 from the centre stops at the junction of Herbert Road), Moorland Road offers a wide variety of day to day shopping. From essentials to gifts and pampering to household services, we have plenty of choice and some longstanding traders with very loyal followings. If you’re a vintage and recycling fan, there are several charity shops to browse and we’re also lucky to have a huge range of places to eat & drink if you fancy a break from your shopping.
This Saturday (26th Nov) will also see the big Christmas lights switch on in Moorland Road, starting at 2pm with a visit from Santa with gifts for children under 8 years old. Lights go on at 4.30pm and there will be performances from Jamma de Samba, The Bath Spa Brass Band and various local choirs.
Here’s a list of local traders to help you plan your trip;
