Bath property market update – January 2019 – If you’re wondering how the property market in Bath is coping with intermittent snow warnings and the threat of Brexit looming closer every day, here’s our latest selection of stats to give you some answers.

You’ll find a wide selection of the latest Bath property market data below in our usual format, with figures in red taken for comparison purposes from our Feb/March 2018 market update.

However, to give you some extra context “from the coal face”, at Madison Oakley we have found activity levels from buyers to be at surprisingly high levels this early in the year. Whether this is the usual British phlegmatic approach winning through or not remains to be seen but buyers are out in decent numbers.

After record viewing levels in the first two weeks of January, sales are now being agreed at well above usual seasonal norms. We have seen several multiple offer scenarios already this month and new property instructions are also at a healthy level (with some very high quality homes coming to market earlier in the year than expected).

However, from comparison statistics with other agents in the city, it seems many are not experiencing either the instructions or sales we have enjoyed. More analysis will be needed before we can see whether we’re unusual in benefiting from this upsurge in activity.
