With a late flurry of sales agreed over the last fortnight, we’re seeing a lot of buyers whizzing around looking for properties to move into around Christmas.

If you’ve just sold your home and your buyers are keen to crack on or if you just want to reduce risk and hassle on your purchase, you might be better off prioritising an empty property to buy.

Why? Chain free homes mean you’re not dependent on someone else’s choices and requirements. You’re not waiting for yet another person to decide where they want to go to, secure a purchase and then what happens if that owner needs to buy as well….

Put simply, the more people and properties involved in your chain, the more risk there is that something will go wrong or get delayed.

Why are some properties chain free? Well, apart from newly built homes, there are quite a few reasons including;
