This was not the only terrace in Bath to be named after Queen Victoria's Prince Consort (the others being Albert Bldgs - now long gone but once stood behind Victoria Buildings next to the old Stothert & Pitt works - and another Albert Terrace in Dolemeads/Widcombe). The first residents at this end of the terrace we can find listed were in 1876;
1 Coates Peter J., gardener, 2 Davis James R., 3 Head Abel, smith, 4 Adlam Samuel, cloth weaver, 5 Starr Jane, laundress
6 Wickham Henry, pensioner
Even by 1885, this part of Bath was relatively sparsely populated with housing - Burnham Rd only had one row (the west side up to the railway, called Burnham Terrace) and what we now know as Argyle Terrace had three separate names (Argyle Terrace, Victoria Terrace and Bloomfield Place). At the time, Albert Terrace overlooked the market garden belonging to No19 Argyle Terrace (occupied by the Crump family who ran a cooperage supplying barrels to the Bath Brewery and other small breweries in Bath).
Local parking is unrestricted on street. However, many of the current terrace residents rent parking spaces or garages opposite and contact details for the landlord can be supplied on request.
