Once called Bath Lane (when Lymore Avenue was Limer Lane), Dartmouth Avenue as we know it took decades to build. This terrace was the first to be constructed on the road prior to 1903. By 1911, 35 houses are listed in occupation records, with the Victoria Brick & Tile Co factory taking up the rest of the road down to the Somerset & Dorset Railway (where the factory had its own siding).
