Faulkland Road was built from 1902 (and first listed in city directories as "Falkland Road, Durley Park") and the first homes, unsurprisingly Nos 1 & 2, were occupied by Mark Massey (ostler) and Frederick Lanning (painter). By 1904, twelve houses on the west side were completed but it was not until 1912 that all of the houses in the road were finished and even then 13 homes were not yet occupied. During the early 1900s, the Moorland Brick and Tile Works occupied the site of the old Moorlands Farm, just across the railway line from the top of Faulkland Road (where the Sandpits play park is now) and the Griffin Engineering Works was located on the corner of Monksdale Rd and Beckhampton Rd.

1911 occupation records for this section of the road show the following;

52 & 53 - void

54 - Edgar Skinner (chef)

55 - Arthur Lloyd (marble polisher)

56 - Horace Hunter

57 - Frank Viles (moulder)

58 - Alfred Cook (brassfinisher)
